Dallas Independent School District is seeking a Custodian for Southwest Dallas (260 Days) to provide cleaning and custodial support across schools and facilities. Responsibilities include routine cleaning, disinfecting surfaces, trash removal, and maintaining a safe, orderly environment.

The role requires ability to lift up to 50 pounds (up to 100 pounds occasionally) and the capacity to work flexible hours. Candidates should follow safety procedures and wear district-issued ID daily.

Formación

• Demonstrated ability to interpret and comprehend documentation such as safety procedures, operating maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
• Demonstrated ability to operate cleaning equipment
• Demonstrated ability to lift or exert force of up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift or exert force up to 100 pounds
• Demonstrated skill in cleaning methods and procedure, disinfecting, safety, security and building maintenance
• Demonstrated ability of proper usage for all cleaning supplies
• Demonstrated ability to follow instructions with minimal supervision

Responsabilidades

• Follow directed cleaning schedule, including general cleaning and dusting of walls, whiteboards, glass, furniture, equipment, restrooms
• Disinfect all hand-touch surfaces and vacuum/clean floors and carpet
• Keep buildings neat and clean; remove trash and debris from entryways and grounds
• Secure the assigned area at the end of shift; lock doors, windows and turn off lights; turn in keys
• Assist in maintaining inventory of cleaning supplies and request replenishment as needed
• Advise Lead when a work order is needed for a specific area
• Operate custodial equipment daily according to safety procedures
• Comply with Hazardous Communications Act for safe handling of chemicals
• Wear uniform and District ID badge daily
• Maintain regular attendance and punctuality; flexible shift as needed
• Maintain good relations with staff and supervisors; reflect core values Fast, Friendly, Focused, Flexible
• Perform other duties as assigned
