POSITION MANAGEMENT GUIDE

SUMMARY OF PURPOSE

This position is responsible for performing custodial and light maintenance tasks as assigned by the Director of Operations & Safety, Lead Custodian or designee. This is a hands-on working position (95% hands on, 5% office). Positions may be assigned to days or second shifts to meet district needs.

Essential Functions

• Performs proportionate share of custodial duties for the building as assigned. Assists with extra work hours on short notice.
• Provides event support as assigned.
• Provides quality control for buildings and grounds in accordance with the preventive maintenance schedule and reports results to appropriate supervisory personnel.
• Assists in the maintenance of lawns, fields and shrubbery.
• Participates in snow removal, on-call and emergency response duties and responsibilities as assigned. This position is expected to respond to every All-Hazards call in, not answering calls or being able to be reached "is not an option".
• Performs minor repairs to custodial equipment and fixtures when feasible. Forwards maintenance/service request forms for major maintenance/service to appropriate supervisory personnel.
• Monitors custodial equipment and supplies for function, safety and serviceability.
• Assists in ordering and acknowledging receipts of supplies and equipment; conducts inventories as required.
• Assists in refuse and snow removal.
• Stay current in custodial trends and practices.
• Assists district courier and maintenance personnel when necessary.
• Assist with emergency situations as directed.
