Job summary

Chandler Unified School District is seeking a full-time Custodian for the roving PM shift in Chandler, AZ. Work schedule is Monday through Friday, 1:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., with a 12-month calendar and paid holidays.

Starting pay is $19.01 per hour, with benefits including PTO, holidays, wellness, and professional growth credits. A post-offer physical and drug screening are required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Sweep, dust, vacuum, scrub, wax, and polish floors and surfaces
• Wash windows, walls, woodwork, and equipment
• Clean assigned areas to prescribed standards and requirements
• Empty trash receptacles
• Perform minor repairs
• Move furniture and equipment as needed
• Replace light bulbs and perform minor maintenance
• Inspect fire equipment and maintain inspection records
• Report safety or major repair needs promptly
• Secure the facility and ensure doors are locked as required
• Handle emergency custodial duties for principals, teachers, and staff
• Follow district policies and directives
• Perform duties safely and prudently as directed by supervisors

Performance Pay: Available annually

New Hire Experience: 1% for two or more years of full time like experience and anadditional1% per year not to exceed the maximum hiring range of 5%.

Physical Requirements – Heavy Work

• Ability to work extended periods of time in extreme temperatures (cold salad/sandwich prep, inventory for freezer & coolers)
• Positions in this classification typically require: stooping, kneeling, crouching, standing, walking, sitting, finger or manual dexterity, repetitive finger motion, speaking, hearing, seeing (with correction), focusing ability, or other factors applicable to the job.
• Employee must be able to stand and walk constantly on various floor surfaces while performing various duties, including but not limited to push/pull force of up to 100 pounds for various machines.
• Employee must stand constantly and walk frequently, lifting items of various sizes, up to 50 pounds. Items over 50 pounds require a second staff member to lift safely.
