Job summary

South Plains College is seeking a facilities associate to keep assigned campus buildings clean and orderly. You will sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum hallways, wax floors, empty trash, and clean windows and restrooms, among other tasks.

The role has no supervisory responsibilities and requires a high school diploma or GED, with 1–3 months of related experience or equivalent. Physical requirements include lifting up to 50 pounds and exposure to typical campus environments.

Qualifications

• Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, write simple correspondence, and present information to students, faculty and staff.
• Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform basic arithmetic with dollars, weights, volumes, and distances.
• Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions.
• Other: Valid Texas Driver's License; High School/GED Diploma; 2 years experience.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree ( GED ); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to students, faculty, and other employees of the college.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
