Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize restrooms and fixtures; dust, mop, vacuum, scrub, wax and polish floors and surfaces.
• Dispose of trash and recyclables; operate cleaning equipment (buffer, sweeper, steam cleaner).
• Monitor and stock supplies; maintain a clean, safe, and presentable environment for airport users and staff.
• Assist in adhering to Authority policies, safety procedures, and building maintenance.

The Custodian staff maintains airport facilities by performing cleaning and upkeep tasks to ensure a safe, clean, and presentable environment.Essential FunctionsCleans and sanitizes restrooms and fixtures.Dusts, cleans and polishes furniture, doors, windows, partitions, woodwork, light fixtures and other related surfaces.Sweeps, mops, vacuums, scrubs, waxes, polishes floors, and shampoos carpets.Disposes of trash and recyclable materials.Operates power cleaning equipment such as buffer, sweeper, and steam cleaning equipment.Performs some limited routine maintenance to equipment, buildings, and fixtures.Professionally communicate over two-way radio, telephone, and email.Additional ResponsibilitiesAssists in monitoring supplies and stocking locations.Maintains good rapport with the public, Airport tenants and other agencies.Adheres to the Authority and departmental policies and procedures as well as safe work practices, policies and procedures.Develops and maintains effective working relationships with other staff, public officials and general public.Performs other duties as assigned.QualificationsHight Schol diploma or equivalentStrong work ethic, be able to complete work independently, work at a consistent pace.Knowledge of cleaning methods and procedures; knowledge of cleaning materials, chemicals, and solvents; knowledge of the care and maintenance of cleaning equipment.Good interpersonal communication skills.Attention to detail oriented.Must- Have RequirementsMust be at least 18 years old.Must wear uniforms provided (uniforms must be clean and presentable) and personal protective equipment.Must be available to work nights, weekends and holidays when required.Successfully pass continual training, security and employment requirementsMust possess acceptable English language skills to include speaking, reading, writing and comprehension.Ability to regularly sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance; stoop, kneel and crouch or crawl.Must be able to use hands and fingers to type, handle bags, boxes, objects or controls.Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted and occasionally lift up to 99 pounds with assistance.Vision abilities include, with or without corrective lenses, close, distance, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.Sufficient auditory ability, with or without audiological devices, to decipher telephone/radio communications, interact with the public and others, decipher radio communications, and hear alarms, including vehicle and other warning signals.Able to tolerate exposure to noise levels up to 90 decibelsAble and willing to work in inclement weather, including extreme cold and warm temperatures.
