The Deerfield Park District is seeking a Custodian to join our team at the Patty Turner Center. This part-time position is ideal for a professional, personable team player with excellent customer service, computer, and phone skills who enjoys working with older adults and wants to make a positive impact.

Responsibilities:
  • Report to Facility Manager
  • Clean the facility (vacuum, mop, dust, etc.), including bathrooms, manage trash, and secure the facility
  • Perform room setups/takedowns, including for large events, and monitor custodial supplies
  • Report equipment issues and perform minor repairs
  • Assist with rentals and provide backup support at the front desk as needed
Qualifications:
  • Minimum age: 18 years or older
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 1–2 years of custodial experience
  • Professional demeanor with excellent customer service, computer, and phone skills
  • Enjoyment in working with active older adults and team members, with a desire to make a positive impact
  • Flexibility and willingness to be on call for additional hours
  • Reliability and ability to work independently
Physical Demands:
  • Frequent standing and walking
  • Regularly lift up to 20 lbs., occasionally lift up to 30 lbs.
Schedule & Pay:
  • Schedule: 2 weekday evenings (5:00 pm–9:00 pm) and 1 weekend shift (9:00 am–2:00 pm)
  • Pay: $15.00–$18.00/hour
