Family Health Centers at NYU Langone - Custodian (Part Time, Warren Street)

Family Health Centers at NYU Langone, a designated Level 3 Medical Home, is the largest federally qualified health center network in New York State, and the second largest in the nation. It includes eight primary care sites, 40 school-based health centers and dental clinics, four day care centers, the nation's largest dental residency program, and New York State's largest behavioral health program. Position Summary

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Custodian-Part Time (Warren Street). Under the supervision of the Education Director of the Center, the custodian shall be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and safety within the center, adhering to Sunset Bay Community Services NAEYC DOH DOE and ACS policies and procedures.

Job Responsibilities

1. Ensure all sidewalks, pathways (front and back), and playgrounds are clean daily.
2. Organize household supply closets and outdoor sheds as needed.
3. Complete the maintenance logbook daily.
4. Order household supplies as needed.
5. Maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of the center at all times.
6. Replace faulty lights as needed.
7. Clean water toys with bleach solution and refill water tables for classrooms as needed.
8. Refill paper towels, tissue paper, and toilet paper for classrooms and bathrooms as needed.
9. Vacuum carpets in offices and classrooms daily and wash as needed.
10. Sweep and mop all classrooms, offices, hallways, bathrooms, and kitchen daily.
11. Refill soap dispensers in classrooms and bathrooms as needed.
12. Replace garbage bags and empty trash cans in all areas daily.
13. Disinfect toilets and clean mirrors and sinks in bathrooms daily.
14. Clean windows and doors weekly.
15. Clean office desks and classroom surfaces with bleach solution daily.
16. Empty diaper pails as needed.
17. Water plants as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Ability to read and write English; ability to follow oral and written directions.

Preferred Qualifications

High School Diploma; job-related trainings; two years of experience in childcare.

Qualified candidates must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
