Job summary

St. Philip is seeking a part-time Custodian to perform custodial and maintenance duties across campus facilities. You will troubleshoot, respond to service requests, assist with event setups and maintain cleanliness in common areas and classrooms.

Responsibilities include cleaning cafeterias, doors, blinds, and signs, with occasional Saturday duties. Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills are required to support a safe, orderly environment.

Responsibilities

• Sweep/Mop cafeteria floor between lunch periods.
• Clean and disinfect cafeteria tables between lunch periods.
• Place out and pick up school traffic signs/cones.
• Unlock/Lock Chapel doors and Life Center Gym doors for before/after school care.
• Report and respond to custodial emergencies.
• Set up and take down furniture/equipment for campus events.
• Maintain scrubs/plants inside and outside the building.
• Occasionally inspect buses for inside cleaning.
• Operate SchoolDude to log tasks and completions.

BASIC FUNCTION:

Under general supervision, perform a wide variety of custodial and maintenance duties in order to provide a clean, orderly and safe environment; and perform related work as required. The Custodian performs custodial and maintenance duties in and around campus facilities; troubleshoots, performs minor repairs and responds to emergency calls for service; implements setups and take down for a variety of campus and community events; works closely with staff/faculty to meet the custodial/maintenance needs of the area.

MAJOR JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Sweep/Mop cafeteria floor between each lunch period.
• Clean and disinfect cafeteria tables between each lunch period.
• Responsible for placing out and picking up school traffic signs/cones.
• Unlock and Lock Chapel doors, Life Center Gym doors on morning/afternoon for before school and after school care and Pre-K hallway doors.
• Report and respond to emergency call for custodial assistance.
• Responds to service requests, coordinate resources and implements the set up and take down of furniture and equipment for a wide variety of campus and community events.
• Ability to perform various maintenance and custodial duties.
• Maintain scrubs/plants inside and outside of the building.
• Occasional inspect buses for inside cleaning.
• Ability to use SchoolDude to perform assigned tasks and completions.
• Ability to work with Pesticides; HVAC Service Contractors, Elevator Company, etc. on accessing building and unlocking doors when services are being rendered.
• Occasionally Saturday cleaning for a couple of hours.
• Wiping of smudge marks from doors/windows in high traffic areas.
• Cleaning window blinds.
• Cleaning concession room weekly.
• Maintain the inventory records for equipment and supplies.
• May work with Pesticides; HVAC Service Contractors, Elevator company, etc. on accessing building and unlocking specific areas when services are rendered.
