Job summary

Cook MyoSite, Inc. in Pittsburgh is seeking a part-time custodian to clean, monitor, and maintain offices and lab-adjacent areas in line with internal standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1-3 years' experience in cleaning in a general office setting.
• 3+ years' experience leading custodial efforts in a laboratory or hospital setting.
• Maintenance Setting (EQ, FA, Safety, Warehouse, MC): General office, warehouse and laboratory setting with potential exposure to hazardous chemicals and/or harsh disinfectants in BioSafety Level II.

Responsibilities

• Clean and monitor all offices and general building areas daily, including trash and recycling removal, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming.
• Maintain bathrooms and break room areas, stock custodial supplies.
• Maintain daily work charts of activities performed.
• Maintain stock levels of custodial supplies and coordinate procurement.
• Provide PPE and attire for cleanroom access as required.
• Work at elevated heights on ladders or lifts.

This is a PART-TIME CUSTODIAN position. The primary purpose of this position is to clean, monitor, and maintain, consistent with internal standards, general and lab areas. This includes maintaining cleanliness and supply restocking of bathrooms, breakrooms, and offices.

Responsibilities

• Clean and monitor all offices and general building areas daily, including general trash and recycling removal, wet and dry mopping of floors, dusting of horizontal surfaces, and vacuuming carpeted areas.
• Clean and monitor all bathrooms and break room areas including wet and dry mopping of floors, dusting of horizontal surfaces, and maintaining stock levels.
• Maintain daily work charts of activities performed.
• Maintain stock levels of all custodial supplies, including requesting procurement of supplies and using company vehicle to pick up supplies or transfer between facilities.
• Don supplied articles of clothing to clean restricted laboratory areas including shirt, pants, safety shoes, lab coat, hairnet, beard cover, safety glasses, and gloves if applicable.
• Ability to work at elevated heights on a ladder, or other lift equipment.

Physical Requirements:

• Maintenance
• Ability to conduct and hear ordinary conversation and telephone communication.
• Must be able to work extended hours beyond normal work schedule to include, but not limited to, evenings, weekends, extended work hours and/or extra work hours, sometimes on short notice as required.
• Ability to work under specific time constraints.
• Ability to spend majority of day standing in warehouse setting for extended periods of time, and at times work within confined areas.
• Physically capable of standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing steps and ladders, reaching, twisting and bending on occasion with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Must be capable of performing PPE gowning procedures on a frequent basis to enter BioSafety Level II including but not limited to safety glasses, lab coat, gloves, specialized clothing including laboratory scrubs (pants and shirt), appropriate shoes, and facial mask (if required) on a regular basis.
