Job summary

The Thomas Jefferson Foundation is seeking a Custodian (Part-time) for evening shifts at Monticello in Charlottesville, VA. No experience is required; duties include cleaning, sanitizing, and assisting with events while engaging guests with a positive attitude.

We offer a 4-day evening schedule (Fri–Mon, 4:00 PM–9:00 PM) with a $1,000 sign-on bonus and $16.50 per hour. A valid driver's license is preferred for occasional location coverage and outdoor work in all weather.

Qualifications

• No experience required; training provided.
• Satisfactory work record and driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning and sanitizing at an assigned location.
• Occasionally support other locations for special projects and events.
• Spend time outdoors in all weather conditions; walk uphill and on uneven terrain.
• Interact with guests throughout the day to provide a positive experience.
• Take initiative and manage time effectively in an independent role.

Custodian (Part-time) - Evenings

The Thomas Jefferson Foundation is seeking qualified applicants who are passionate about providing our guests with a positive experience. Custodians will perform consistent cleaning and sanitizing services at an assigned location and will occasionally perform duties in other locations throughout the property to support special projects and events. Custodians must be prepared to spend a significant amount of time outdoors, in all weather conditions, and walk uphill and on uneven terrain as we are located on a mountain. Custodians are considered frontline staff at Monticello and will interact with our guests throughout the day, so exemplary customer service skills are essential. This is an independent role, so successful applicants will be able to take initiative and have excellent time management skills. No experience required. Satisfactory work record and driver's license required.

We are looking to fill the following part-time shift

• Friday/Saturday/Sunday/Monday (4 days, 4:00pm to 9:00pm each day)

$1,000 sign-on bonus! $16.50 per hour.
