This position within the Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department performs manual custodial functions related to the care, upkeep, and preservation of PRT facilities and may provide support to other Facility Technician positions. Responsibilities include:
Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or GED and one to two years related experience in custodial maintenance; or any combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job. Must possess a valid Driver’s License. Must complete required NIMS level training within the first six months of hire. Knowledge of general housekeeping, proper use of cleaning equipment and chemicals, and proper English usage, including spelling, grammar, punctuation, and vocabulary is required. Skill in using a wide range of hand and power tools and equipment, various cleaning tools and machines, and communicating clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, is essential. Ability to work as a team member in maintaining City facilities in a clean and sanitary condition is necessary.
Physical Demands: Regularly required to climb, bend body and legs, move about on hands and knees, use hands, arms, and fingers to reach, handle, seize, hold, grasp or turn objects, and exert 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, or 25 to 50 pounds frequently, or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Working Conditions: Regularly exposed to conditions such as fumes, noxious odors, dust, mists, gasses, and possible bodily injury from toxic or caustic chemicals, moving mechanical parts or equipment, tools, or machinery. Working conditions are typically moderately loud.
