Job summary

City of North Myrtle Beach is seeking a dedicated Custodian to maintain the cleanliness and appearance of City facilities and amenities. Under general supervision, you will perform a variety of custodial tasks to keep offices, break rooms, restrooms, and public areas presentable.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver's license, and the ability to learn new custodial skills. Work hours typically 6:00am–3:30pm, Monday through Sunday, year-round, with occasional

Responsibilities

• Dusting, sweeping, mopping, painting, replacing lights, vacuuming, polishing, and cleaning of offices, break rooms, showers, and public restrooms.
• Regularly emptying recycling and trash receptacles and blowing debris from hard surfaces in parks and parking lots.
• Duties scheduled on a rotational basis; hours vary with special events; typical shift 6:00am to 3:30pm, Monday–Sunday.
• Year-round position; performs other related duties as required.

General Statement of Job

Under general supervision, cleans and maintains the general appearance and cleanliness of City facilities and amenities. Performs a variety of custodial tasks and duties.

Minimum Training And Experience

High school graduate with the ability to learn and utilize new skills in the area of Custodial work; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Must possess a valid driver's license.

Physical Requirements

Must be physically able to operate a vacuum cleaner, carpet cleaner, and a copier. Must be able to exert up to fifty pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to twenty-five pounds of force frequently, and/or up to ten pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Must be able to lift and/or carry weights of ten to fifty pounds.

Other Information

Under limited supervision, duties include dusting, sweeping, mopping, painting, replacing lights, vacuuming, polishing, and cleaning of offices, break rooms, showers, and public restrooms. Also regularly emptying of recycling and trash receptacles and blows debris from hard surfaces in parks and parking lots. Specific schedule will be assigned on a rotational basis and work hours will vary depending on special events. The majority of work will be assigned Monday-Sunday, 6:00am to 3:30pm. This is a year-round position. Performs other related duties as required.

Holiday Bonus

• Employed November 1st through October 31st
• Worked at least 1040 hours between during employment period listed above
• Will receive $200 Holiday Bonus
