Responsible for cleaning all campus facilities to a standard of excellence, ensuring a safe, aesthetically pleasing, and environmentally friendly learning environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

Salary Range: Min: $33,421.44 | Mid: $37,599.12

We offer a competitive salary package based on experience and qualifications. Compensation will be commensurate with your level of experience.

Responsibilities

1. Complete assigned tasks such as waste disposal, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, restroom cleaning, refilling dispensers, spot cleaning, window cleaning, polishing metal, disinfecting surfaces, and addressing cleaning concerns.
2. Assist with event setups and takedowns.
3. Perform duties independently within designated timeframes.
4. Maintain performance standards in customer service, initiative, quality, and timeliness.
5. Demonstrate employability skills: adaptability, communication, problem-solving, responsibility, and teamwork.
6. Participate in college committees as required.
7. Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Contacts

• Daily communication with Head Custodian, Supervisor, Administrative Assistants, Event Scheduler, faculty, staff, students, visitors regarding cleaning and room arrangements.

Minimum Education & Experience

• High School diploma or GED
• At least 1 year of custodial experience in a commercial or educational setting.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA)

• Knowledge of safety procedures (OSHA) and injury prevention.
• Ability to complete tasks efficiently with quality standards.
• Physical ability to push, pull, stoop, bend, climb, stand, walk, lift up to 50 pounds.
• Proficiency in basic computer use.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Flexibility to work any shift and campus, indoors and outdoors year-round.

Department/Job Specific Requirements

• Physical activities include kneeling, crawling, bending, climbing stairs/ladders, balancing, and moving heavy objects.
• Background check and valid North Carolina Driver's License required.
• Completion of mandatory safety and compliance training within 30 days of hire.
