Job summary

St. Francis Xavier School, part of the St. Joseph Catholic Academy, is seeking a custodial maintenance staff member. The role reports to the Principal and involves cleaning, supply replenishment, building security at close, and coordination with the maintenance supervisor for repairs.

Responsibilities include daily inspections, safe handling of cleaning chemicals, and occasional snow/ice treatment of walkways. Background check and trainings required prior to hire.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and sanitized environment.
• Replenish restroom and other necessary supplies throughout the facility as needed.
• Provide routine cleaning including toilets, sinks, windows; mop, vacuum, dust.
• Secure the building at the end of the day.
• Request necessary supplies for cleaning and maintenance.
• Perform daily visual inspections of the school property and clean as needed.
• Inform maintenance supervisor of repairs via written work orders.
• Perform work as assigned by principal, pastor, or business manager.
• Report vandalism to the maintenance supervisor promptly.
• Snow removal or ice treatment of sidewalks and entryways as necessary.

Description

St. Francis Xavier School is a Pre-K and Elementary Catholic School which is part of the St. Joseph Catholic Academy.

The custodial maintenance staff reports directly to the Principal. The custodial staff is responsible for the following duties:

• maintaining a clean and sanitized environment


• replenishing restroom and other necessary supplies throughout the facility as needed


• providing routine cleaning for the school through cleaning toilets, sinks, and window, taking out the trash, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting


• securing the building at the end of the day


• requesting necessary supplies for cleaning and maintaining the building


• perform a daily visual inspection of the entire school property and clean and maintain as needed


• informing the maintenance supervisor of repairs needed to the building through written work orders


• performing work to be done as a result of work orders requested by the principal, pastor, or business manager


• reporting all vandalism as soon as possible to the maintenance supervisor


• snow removal or ice treatment of sidewalks, entry ways as necessary

• Familiarity with the Catholic understanding of ministry is an asset.
