Job summary

St. Francis Xavier School, part of St. Joseph Catholic Academy, seeks a part-time custodial staff member to support a clean, safe Pre-K and elementary environment.

Reporting to the Principal, you will perform daily cleaning, stock supplies, and secure the building. Responsibilities include sanitizing surfaces, restroom upkeep, trash disposal, floor care, snow/ice treatment as needed, and communicating repairs via work orders.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Available to work afternoon and evenings.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Familiarity with Catholic understanding of ministry is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and sanitized environment.
• Replenish restroom and other supplies as needed.
• Perform routine cleaning: toilets, sinks, windows, trash removal, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting.
• Secure the building at day end.
• Inform supervisor of repairs via written work orders.
• Snow removal or ice treatment of sidewalks and entryways as necessary.
• Report vandalism to maintenance supervisor.

Description

St. Francis Xavier School is a Pre-K and Elementary Catholic School which is part of the St. Joseph Catholic Academy.

The custodial maintenance staff reports directly to the Principal. The custodial staff is responsible for the following duties:

• maintaining a clean and sanitized environment


• replenishing restroom and other necessary supplies throughout the facility as needed


• providing routine cleaning for the school through cleaning toilets, sinks, and window, taking out the trash, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting


• securing the building at the end of the day


• requesting necessary supplies for cleaning and maintaining the building


• perform a daily visual inspection of the entire school property and clean and maintain as needed


• informing the maintenance supervisor of repairs needed to the building through written work orders


• performing work to be done as a result of work orders requested by the principal, pastor, or business manager


• reporting all vandalism as soon as possible to the maintenance supervisor


• snow removal or ice treatment of sidewalks, entry ways as necessary
