Aberdeen School District 6-1 is seeking a Custodian Level II to maintain a safe and sanitary environment for students, staff, and the public. Responsibilities include arranging furnishings, cleaning facilities, and responding to safety concerns.
The ideal candidate should possess a high school diploma or equivalent, job-related experience, and a valid driver's license. This full-time position has a pay rate starting at $15.90 per hour, with benefits included.
Hours: 6:00 am - 3:00 pm during the school year. Summer hours begin when the school year ends.
Salary Range: $15.90 per hour, subject to increase based on experience, employee benefits included.

Certificate: Valid Driver's License.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Clearances: Employment is contingent upon a Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance, paid for by the applicant.
The job of Custodian Level II is done for the purpose of maintaining an attractive, sanitary and safe facility for students, staff and public; providing equipment and furniture arrangements for meetings, classroom activities, and events; and performing minor repairs and preventive maintenance; minimizing property damage, loss and liability exposure.
This job reports to Director of Operational Services/District Facilities Foreman.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities are required to perform multiple tasks with a potential need to upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skill based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: operating equipment used in industrial maintenance including electrical cleaning equipment, common tools, etc.; and adhering to safety practices.
Knowledge is required to perform basic math; understand written procedures, write routine documents, and speak clearly; and understand multi-step written and oral instructions. Specific Knowledge based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: methods of industrial cleaning; and safety practices and procedures.
Ability is required to schedule activities and/or meetings; collate data; and use job-related equipment. Flexibility is required to work with others in a variety of circumstances; work with data utilizing specific, defined processes; and operate equipment using a variety of standardized methods. Ability is also required to work with a wide diversity of individuals; work with specific, job-related data; and utilize job-related equipment. Some problem solving may be required to identify issues and select action plans. Problem solving with data requires following prescribed guidelines; and problem solving with equipment is limited to moderate. The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 10% sitting, 60% walking, and 30% standing. The job is performed under minimal temperature variations and under conditions with some exposure to risk of injury and/or illness.
