Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize restrooms using established procedures.

• Strip, buff and apply floor finish to hard floors.
• Vacuum and shampoo carpets; maintain clean floors and surfaces.
• Operate power equipment and hand tools safely.
• Lock/unlock buildings and secure premises after hours.
• Follow chemical safety guidelines for cleaners and supplies.
• Move furniture and equipment as needed.
• Wash windows and blinds; launder cleaning rags and mops.
• Respond to emergencies and attend staff meetings.
• Tend to recycling and other duties as assigned.

This includes the delivery of evidence-based preventative care, chronic disease management, and addressing urgent care needs as indicated for our pediatric and adult patient population.GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIESThe Custodian/Janitor cleans and carries out maintenance duties.GENERAL DUTIES(This list may not include all of the duties assigned.)Clean and sanitize restrooms/bathrooms using established practices and procedure.Clean, dust, and wipe furniture; sweep, mop, or vacuum floors; empty/clean wastebaskets and trash containers; replace light bulbs; refill restroom dispensers.Assist with the setup of facilities for meetings, classrooms, conferences, events, etc.Strip, clean, buff and apply floor sealer and floor finish to hard surface floors, vacuum and shampoo carpets.Use and maintain assigned power equipment and hand tools; buffers, auto scrubbers, extractors, high pressure washers, high speed buffers and vacuums, brooms, mops, and squeegees for the cleaning and general maintenance of floors, walls, carpets, furniture, etc.Wash walls and equipment; use ladders when required in work assignments.Lock and unlock assigned buildings: secure building when facilities are not in use checking for unlocked doors and windows, report any unauthorized occupants, turn off lights.Follow instructions regarding the use of chemicals and supplies. Use as directed.Perform cleaning and related activities such as removing snow or debris from sidewalks and stairs in areas within sixteen feet of buildings using hand-operated tools or small power equipment.Move furniture, equipment, supplies and tools on an incidental basis.Wash accessible interior and exterior windows. Clean blinds. Launder cleaning rags and dust mops.Tend to emergencies when necessary.Attend staff meetings.Handle recycling materials.Safely operate all vehicles and other job-related equipment.Support and enforce all clinical policies as approve by the Board of Directors.OSHA rules and health and safety regulations and guidelines, etc.Perform related duties as required.Other duties as assigned.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSHigh School diploma or GED.Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, interpersonal skills and time management skills.Have knowledge of policies and procedures of Community Clinics.Knowledge of computer technology, including word processing, spreadsheet, database, and graphics software to prepare publications, reports, and business correspondence.Ability to interact with professional, administrative and higher-level management personnel.DESIRED EXPERIENCEFamiliarity with an electronic practice management system.Computer literate (i.e. logging on to computer, usage of keyboard and mouse, familiarity with Windows, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel).Ability to type 45 wpm.
