Job description

We’re looking to hire a professional with experience in sanitation who can maintain the cleanliness and safety of our buildings. The role will be responsible for all cleaning and sanitation duties between our buildings. The ideal candidate has a great work ethic, experience with cleaning equipment and supplies, organization, and takes pride in a job well done. The professional in the role will be required to work between our Edison building office spaces and our Central building office space, with some warehouse cleanup as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Supervisory Responsibilities: None
• Cleaning various flooring types (wood, linoleum, tile, etc.)
• Cleaning lunchroom/breakroom and restocking supplies
• Cleaning refrigerators and microwaves
• Wiping down kitchen equipment and countertops
• Shampooing rugs and carpets
• Emptying warehouse trash cans
• Dusting and cleaning vents
• Dusting all surfaces, high and low
• Waxing and/or buffing floors
• Accurate ordering of cleaning supplies as needed
• Washing inside windows
• Sweeping warehouse floors with dust compound
• Breaking down cardboard boxes for baling
• Maintaining and organizing inventory
• Using cleaning equipment, including commercial vacuums, floor buffers, and carpet cleaners
• Collecting and disposing of office trash and recycling
• Reporting hazards to appropriate parties
• Maintaining cleaning equipment and supplies

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in sanitation or cleaning roles
• Ability to lead a team and delegate tasks
• Knowledge of cleaning products and tools
• Experience operating machinery such as floor scrubbers, carpet extractors, and vacuums
• Experience cleaning various tabletops and materials
• Strong time management and multitasking skills
• Organizational skills
• Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to operate a pallet jack or similar equipment
• Basic math skills
• Extensive floor care experience, including stripping and waxing floors
• Ability to track product usage and maintain inventory

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and move over 25 pounds
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods
• Physical strength and stamina
