Are you someone with at least one (1) year of custodian or building maintenance experience? If so, we invite you to apply for the position of Custodian III with Chatham County Government.

As a Custodian III, you will:

1. Lead and instruct work crews in the care of County buildings by providing guidance and technical expertise.
2. Provide training in the proper use of equipment and safety work procedures and techniques.
3. Inspect and evaluate work progress.
4. Monitor inventory levels of equipment, cleaning supplies, materials, tools, and supplies.
5. Sweep, mop, polish, and strip floors in rooms and halls.
6. Dust and/or polish furniture, blinds, and equipment.
7. Clean restrooms and fill dispensers.
8. Vacuum, spot clean, and shampoo rugs, carpets, and furniture using commercial equipment.
9. Initiate work orders for malfunctions or damages.
10. Stock areas with supplies.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum qualifications:

1. High School Diploma or GED.
2. At least one (1) year of custodian or building maintenance experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
3. Ability to read, write, understand, and follow instructions.
4. Must be able to lift and move up to 75 lbs.
5. Valid driver's license required.
