Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission seeks a Custodian II to perform custodial duties at the San Antonio State Supported Living Center. You will clean, sanitize, and maintain multiple areas, operate floor-care equipment, restock supplies, and assist with minor repairs while adhering to safety procedures.

The role requires lifting, training others, and potential weekend/holiday shifts. Telework is not available; on-site work in San Antonio, TX with a regular schedule.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent.
• Paid work experience in any field; or
• Unpaid housekeeping/custodial service experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform custodial functions timely and with high quality (sweeping, mopping, dusting, windows, light fixtures).
• Ensure sanitization and disinfection per training.
• Maintain floor care, restroom, bedroom, nurses' station and isolation areas.
• Inspect buildings for cleanliness and needed repairs; report issues.
• Train other custodians and document trainings performed.
• Maintain custodial equipment in good order; manage supplies.
• Assist in minor repairs and installations; support disaster/COOP duties.
