Mississippi State University invites applications for a custodial position within MSU-Extension Head Start Harrison County. This safety-sensitive role supports routine cleaning, supplies management, and emergency response duties across assigned facilities.
The incumbent will perform regular cleaning, manage monthly inventory of supplies, ensure safety procedures are followed, and participate in meetings and trainings as required.
To perform duties necessary for the routine cleaning and upkeep of buildings. This position is responsible for custodial services operations, supply inventory and ordering of supplies, emergency calls, etc. This is a “safety-sensitive” position.

This position is responsible for the following core functions and performs other tasks as needed:
Education: High school diploma or GED
Experience: 2 years in custodial work.
Licensures: Successfully completes and maintains basic First Aid and CPR certification.
Valid Driver's license.
Regularly involves lifting, bending or other physical exertion. Often exposed to one or more elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, etc.
Occasional-Routine deadlines; usually sufficient lead time; variance in work volume seasonal and predictable; priorities can be anticipated; some interruptions are present; travel or other inconveniences have advance notice; involves occasional exposure to demands and pressures from persons other than immediate supervisor.
Job frequently requires standing, walking, reaching, climbing or balancing, talking, hearing, handling objects with hands, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
Job occasionally requires sitting, stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling, and lifting more than 100 pounds.
Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
