Job description

The San Diego County Office of Education is recruiting for a Custodian.

Under general supervision, maintains assigned buildings and adjacent grounds areas in a clean, orderly, and safe condition.

The current assignment is located in San Diego, CA as part of the Maintenance & Operations department in the Business Services division within SDCOE.

Please note that while this current assignment is for the location listed, employees of SDCOE may be administratively reassigned to other locations based on organizational needs.

Requirements / Qualifications

This position requires a combination of education, training and experience which clearly demonstrates possession of the knowledge and abilities detailed in the job description.

A typical qualifying background would include six (6) months of experience performing general custodial work, OR completion of formal custodial training. Certificates and Licenses:

• A valid California Class C driver’s license

Type of examination(s) for this classification:

Open Examinations: Application for examinations designated as “open” shall be open to all applicants who meet the prescribed requirements of the class and are not otherwise disqualified by these rules. Applications will be reviewed, and candidates whose qualifications most closely match the classification requirements will be invited to participate in a competitive examination process.

The examination process may consist of one or more of the following examination components: a multiple-choice examination, an oral examination, a written examination, a practical demonstration, a performance examination, and/or a technical evaluation of the application.

The results of this recruitment will be used to establish an eligibility list to fill the current vacancy and any other vacancies in this classification for the next six (6) months, or until the list is terminated.
