Custodian I -60% - WEO Sat/Sun - Downtown Campus

The University of Iowa Health Care Downtown Campus department of Environmental Services is seeking a Custodian to provide a safe, clean and healthy environment for patients, guests, visitors and staff. This position is scheduled to work second shift. Starting salary, $16.97/hour. The University of Iowa offers a generous benefits package, which may be viewed at https://hr.uiowa.edu/benefits.

University of Iowa Health Care Medical Center Downtown (located at 500 E. Market Street, Iowa City, IA) is a 194-bed hospital that became part of Iowa’s only comprehensive academic health system on Jan. 31, 2024.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Stock supplies for cart and custodial area
2. Clean and disinfect restrooms/ refill restroom supplies
3. Dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, and damp mopping hard surface floors
4. Wall & ceiling washing
5. Furniture moves and room setups
6. Use various types of custodial equipment in performance of duties
7. Other tasks and duties as assigned

This position is performed fully on campus.

Percent of time: 60%

Salary: $16.97/hour
