We are seeking applicants for the Custodian I - 3rd Shift (CM) position at Township High School District 214, initially located at JHHS, with a 40-hour work week. The position is classified as Grade I, CMS13, Step 1, with a salary of $23.29 per hour, effective July 1, 2025. This is a 12-month assignment.

Responsibilities
  • Perform custodial duties to maintain a safe, clean, and attractive educational environment, including cleaning, moving equipment, and setting up for programs and activities.
  • Follow safety protocols and use personal protective equipment.
  • Perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 40 lbs frequently and up to 80 lbs occasionally, working in various weather conditions.
  • Climb stairs, ladders, and work from scaffolding and lifts as needed.
  • Operate cleaning equipment and monitor building systems.
  • Report maintenance issues and participate in safety and training programs.
  • Perform snow removal and salting as necessary.
Qualifications
  • Consistent attendance with no attendance issues in the past two years.
  • Effective communication skills and patience when interacting with students, staff, and the public.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs regularly and 80 lbs occasionally.
  • Physical ability to perform labor in various weather conditions and climb stairs/ladders.
