Job summary

The University of Iowa Healthcare department of Environmental Services is seeking a Custodian I to maintain a safe, clean environment for patients, guests, visitors and staff. The position focuses on cleaning kitchen and dining areas at our North Liberty Campus and is performed on campus.

Responsibilities include general cleaning, trash removal, restocking supplies, restroom disinfection, floor care, bed making, and moving furniture.

• Ability to read, write, and follow directions.
• Previous cleaning experience.
• Experience working in a healthcare setting and with the public.
• Experience using cleaning equipment.

Job description

The University of Iowa Healthcare department of Environmental Services is seeking a Custodian to provide a safe, clean and healthy environment for patients, guests, visitors and staff of The University of Iowa Health Care. While supporting the EVS department as a whole, your primary duties will be to clean the kitchen and dining areas. This position will be assigned at our North Liberty Campus.

Characteristic Duties And Responsibilities

• General cleaning
• Trash removal
• Stock supplies for cart and custodial area
• Clean and disinfect restrooms/ refill restroom supplies
• Dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, and damp mopping hard surface floors
• Carpet cleaning
• Unit/bed making
• Wall & ceiling washing
• Furniture moves and room setups
• Use various types of custodial equipment in performance of duties
• Other tasks and duties as assigned

Position may have Bloodborne Pathogen Exposure Risk.

This position is performed fully on campus.

Percent of time: 100%

Schedule: Monday-Friday 5:00pm - 1:30pm

Salary: $17.66/hour
