Job summary

Missouri State University is hiring a Custodian I on the Springfield Campus. The role involves semi-skilled custodial work across facilities, including floors, restrooms, classrooms, and common areas, following established procedures. It includes moving furniture for events and snow/ice removal as needed.

This position is open to current, regular, full-time MSU employees represented by IBEW. The candidate will perform setup, cleaning, and safety duties, with a good physical fitness level

Qualifications

• Must understand written work orders and chemical instructions.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds frequently and 100 pounds occasionally.
• Experience with custodial equipment and cleaning procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform floor and stairs maintenance with tools or powered machines.
• Clean restrooms, classrooms, and offices to prescribed standards.
• Move furniture for events and perform setup per plans.
• Remove trash and recycling; report damages and safety concerns.
• Respond to emergencies and snow/ice removal as required.

Education

Completion of 10th grade
