Title: Custodian Part Time

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Pay Rate: $12.20/Hourly

Status: Part Time

Department: Building Services

Reports to: Executive Director

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Executive Director and in accordance with the Christian mission and purpose of the Great Miami Valley (GMV) YMCA, the Custodian is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing assigned areas, including duties such as mopping, dusting, and trash removal. Additional responsibilities include window washing, room setup, groundskeeping, and other related tasks.

Essential Functions
  1. Ensure the YMCA is attractive and clean by completing all duties listed on the daily schedule and maintaining the upkeep of assigned areas and equipment. This includes wet and dust mopping, dusting, trash removal, recycling, window washing, pool cleaning, painting, vacuuming, and general cleaning.
  2. Operate related motorized and non-motorized equipment.
  3. Record and report all needed repairs; perform repairs as directed.
  4. Ensure the YMCA building and property are secure during shifts and report incidents and hazardous conditions to the supervisor.
  5. Replace soap, paper towels, and other supplies as needed.
  6. Set up rooms as required.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:
  • Sufficient strength and agility to perform duties, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work at heights up to 30 feet and in conditions creating dirt and dust.
  • Capability to perform maintenance tasks involving reaching, crouching, kneeling, carrying, and working in confined spaces.
