Qualifications

Job Description

The Custodian will perform a variety of janitorial, custodial, and/or security tasks to maintain clean and safe buildings.

The Custodian will perform a variety of janitorial, custodial, and/or security tasks to maintain clean and safe buildings.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a clean and orderly work environment while ensuring housekeeping duties are completed as required
  • Sweeps, mops, dusts, vacuums all assigned areas daily
  • Washes walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, mirrors, and fixtures
  • Operates powered janitorial tools/equipment(I.E floor scrubber, polishers, and vacuums)
  • Maintains an inventory of cleaning and toiletry supplies
  • Restocks paper products, soaps, sanitizers, and other hygiene items
  • Spot-cleans spills, stains, and smudges
  • Monitors high-traffic areas for cleanliness (I.E. breakrooms, conference rooms, entryways, and lobby)
  • Ensure all safety procedures, practices, and regulations are followed before, during, and after the process to foster a positive safety culture by having a safety-first mindset and approach during execution of activities
  • Determines appropriate cleaning materials, supplies, tools, and equipment needed to accomplish job
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Knowledge of standard methods, practices, tools, and equipment of the janitorial service
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety rules
  • High motivated, disciplined problems-solver/troubleshooter
  • Ability to operate and use janitorial tools, equipment, and supplies such as vacuum cleaners, and cleaning compounds and solution
  • Strong ethics and ability to work in team environment Experience demonstrating successful support of a positive safety culture
