Job summary

CMHA-CEI is seeking a dedicated janitorial staff member to perform daily cleaning and light maintenance at facilities owned or contracted by CMHA-CEI in Clinton, Eaton and Ingham counties.

You will work under the Head Custodian and Property & Facilities Coordinator, taking day-to-day directions while ensuring the upkeep of safe and welcoming environments for staff and visitors. Physical fitness and reliable transportation are required; weekend work and evening shifts apply.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
• Able to operate janitorial equipment such as floor scrubbers and vacuums.
• May require reliable transportation for job-related use.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning and minor maintenance tasks at CMHA-CEI facilities.
• Follow the Head Custodian's direction and supervision from the Property & Facilities Coordinator.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for staff and visitors.

Responsibilities

Under the supervision of a Property and Facilities Coordinator or Supervisor, takes day to day direction from the Head Custodian while performing Janitorial functions that include cleaning and minor maintenance tasks at Community Mental Health Authority of Clinton, Eaton and Ingham counties’ owned/contracted facilities. Responsible for carrying out all activities of the program/subunit in such a manner that fulfills CMHA-CEI’s mission, policies and procedures.

Requirements

Must be physically able to perform repetitive lifting up to 50 pounds. Must be physically able to operate a variety of Janitorial equipment (floor scrubbers, vacuum cleaners, etc.). May be required to have access to reliable means of transportation for job related use.

Conditional Employment Requirements

Employment offers for this position will be contingent upon the results of a Michigan State Police Clearance check. Must be able to pass pre-employment 5-panel drug screen. Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical.

Salary/Hours

$15.58-17.45 per hour. 3:30pm to 12am; Weekends Required. Shift Incentive: + $1.25/hour for hours worked 5pm – 12am | + $2/hour for hours worked 12am – 8am | + $3/hour for weekends worked Friday 5pm – Monday 8am.
