Job summary

Dunlap School District #323 is seeking a Custodian to maintain building and grounds at the Dunlap District Office. This full-time day shift runs Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day, at 323 Field House.

The Custodian reports to the Director of Operations and Maintenance and is expected to perform cleaning, disinfecting, trash removal, floor care, and general maintenance, with retirement benefits and sick time included. Occasional travel between buildings may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Empties trash in all classrooms, bathrooms, office and lounge
• Cleans and disinfects all sinks, toilets, urinals, soap holders, paper towel holders, and toilet dividers
• Cleans all mirrors
• Wet mops bathrooms
• Cleans water fountains
• Vacuums classrooms and mats
• Dust mops hallways and gym floors; use floor machine as needed
• Cleans up after school activities
• Locks doors and windows
• Communicates with head custodian regarding repair/maintenance needs
• Buffs floors as needed
• Dusts rooms, hallways and bathrooms as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Position Objective

The Custodian maintains building and grounds in as optimal condition as possible for all stakeholders.

Essential Functions

• Empties trash in all classrooms, bathrooms, office and lounge
• Cleans and disinfects all sinks, toilets, urinals, soap holders, paper towel holders, and toilet dividers
• Cleans all mirrors
• Wet mops bathrooms
• Cleans water fountains
• Vacuums classrooms and mats
• Dust mops hallways and gym floors; use floor machine as needed
• Cleans up after school activities
• Locks doors and windows
• Communicates with head custodian regarding repair/maintenance needs

Additional Functions

• Buffs floors as needed
• Dusts rooms, hallways and bathrooms as needed
• Other duties as assigned
