Job summary

The Greater Philadelphia YMCA is seeking a Custodian to maintain cleanliness of locker rooms, floors, and facilities. Shifts are Monday through Friday from 4pm to midnight, with some night and weekend availability required.

You will support a positive member experience by keeping spaces safe and sanitary. The role requires at least a high school diploma or equivalent and the ability to operate cleaning equipment.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age with a high school or technical school diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize walls, floors, furniture, equipment using the proper supplies and in accordance with product label instructions. Vacuum, sweep, dust all areas, furniture, light fixtures, and other equipment. Routinely monitor trash and dispose in accordance with procedures.
• Set up and break down equipment as needed. Ensure all equipment for member programs is clean, sanitized and in good working order.
• Respond promptly to all emergency situations as well as maintain the safety of all members, program participants, guests, and staff.
• Maintain closets and shop areas in neat, organized, and safe condition with all supplies and chemicals properly labeled.

Ensure a safe, clean, and healthy environment and a positive member experience. This position requires night and weekend availability.
