Job summary

AHRC Nassau in Freeport, NY, is seeking a Custodian for the Freeport location. The role runs Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m.

to 2:00 p.m., totaling 20 hours per week, performing cleaning tasks such as carpet care, stripping, waxing, and buffing, and supporting site operations. The ideal candidate has a High School Diploma or equivalent, basic porter cleaning experience or ACCES–VR training, and a valid NYS driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• At least six months porter cleaning experience or ACCES–VR porter training.
• Ability to perform medium to heavy manual labor and follow supervisor instructions.
• Some training in use of commercial cleaning equipment.
• Valid and qualified NYS driver’s license.
• Carpet cleaning, stripping, waxing and buffing experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Performs cleaning tasks at sites including carpet cleaning, stripping, waxing and buffing.
• Assists in moving supplies and equipment as needed.
• Notifies supervisor of problems or difficulties in performing duties.
• Monitors inventory of supplies and notifies team leader when replenishment is needed.
• Notifies team leader if equipment is not working properly.
• Performs additional related duties as requested by supervisor.
