Job description

The Floor Technician will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness in hallways, entrance/exit ways, and other designated areas. The role includes:

  1. Performing daily environmental service functions, including on-call and weekend schedules.
  2. Completing specific tasks as assigned in daily work plans.
  3. Conducting self-inspections to ensure quality and safety.
  4. Burnishing floors with high-speed equipment.
  5. Stripping wax from floors using low-speed burnishers.
  6. Cleaning floors through sweeping, dusting, damp/wet mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, and disinfecting, ensuring safety signs are properly set up.
  7. Cleaning carpets and mats via vacuuming, bonnet cleaning, deodorizing, extracting, spotting, and disinfecting.
  8. Cleaning walls, doors, handles, ceilings, fixtures, vents, switches, thermostats, windows, baseboards, and pictures through washing, wiping, and disinfecting.
  9. Maintaining cleanliness in hallways, offices, stairways, and elevators.
  10. Disposing of waste properly, cleaning and disinfecting receptacles, and lining trash bins with liners.
  11. Collecting and disposing of infectious waste per facility policy.
  12. Incorporating infection control and safety procedures into daily tasks.
  13. Maintaining supplies and equipment, and ensuring environmental areas are tidy and safe.
  14. Moving furniture as needed.
  15. Collecting recyclables and transporting them to the designated area.
  16. Ensuring work areas are clean, and tools and supplies are properly stored before breaks, meals, and at day's end.
  17. Assisting in laundry and environmental service areas as needed.
  18. Driving company vehicles as assigned.
  19. Attending staff meetings to address issues and improve services.
