Job summary

Orchard Farm School District in Saint Charles County, MO, is seeking evening custodians to join our team. Shifts run 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM, 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, or 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM, Monday through Friday, at multiple locations.

Starting pay is $15.50 per hour with a $2.00 evening differential. The district may consider up to 7 years of prior experience for starting salary. The role involves tracking inventory, cleaning various areas of the school, and providing support during events.

Qualifications

• Any combination of education and experience providing the required skills.
• Ability to relate to students, staff, and parents in a positive manner.
• Ability to communicate clearly in verbal and written form.
• Ability to follow written and oral communication.
• Ability to problem solve practical problems.
• Ability to use basic technology for inventory records, email and district required systems.
• Physical ability to reach, climb, bend, squat, stoop and kneel frequently; move up to 50 lbs and lift up to 75 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Checks and secures building at beginning and end of shift for safety and cleanliness.
• Cleans rooms, hallways, cafeterias, restrooms, offices, stairways per standards.
• Sweeps, mops, buffs, strips, and waxes floors.
• Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstery, and blinds.
• Washes walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, doors, sills.
• Removes graffiti, cleans glass areas.
• Replaces light bulbs.
• Sets up and breaks down chairs, tables, and equipment.
• Clears snow and spreads sand/ice melting chemicals.
• Performs grounds-keeping duties and maintains grounds.
• Receives deliveries and assists in unloading and storing supplies.
• Delivers supplies to classrooms and restrooms.
• Empties wastebaskets and supports recycling program.
• Performs general cleaning and repair during breaks.
• Assists parents and visitors during events.
• Performs other related tasks as assigned.

An individual who holds this position is required to:

• Sweeps, mops, buffs, strips, and waxes floors.

• Washes walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, doors, and sills.
• Removes graffiti, cleans glass areas.
• Replaces light bulbs.
• Sets up and breaks down chairs, tables and equipment in meeting rooms, and functional rooms.
• Clears snow from entrances and walks, and spreads sand and ice melting chemicals.
• Performs grounds-keeping duties, clears debris and maintains grounds.
• Receives deliveries and assists in unloading trucks and storing supplies.
• Delivers supplies and materials to classrooms, bathrooms and other areas of the building.
• Empties wastebaskets; picks up and removes trash and assists in recycling program.
• Performs general cleaning, and repair work, particularly during school vacations.
• Assists parents and other visitors to school buildings with special events and programs.
• Performs other related tasks as assigned by supervisor.

The position is in a regular school setting that is noisy and active.
