Job summary

CBRE Government and Defense Services is seeking a Custodian in East Hartford, CT. You will perform basic cleaning duties in high-traffic areas, including mopping, sweeping, dusting, and trash disposal.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and 2 years of related experience. You will stock restrooms and maintain cleanliness in storage areas, restrooms, elevators, and hallways. Shift runs 5:00pm to 1:30am, with a focus on safe use of cleaners and timely task completion.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide daily cleaning support to high-traffic areas as directed by supervisor.
• Stock bathrooms with toilet paper, paper towels, Kleenex, and soap.
• Sweep, vacuum, wipe, and mop storage units, hallways, restrooms, elevators, etc.
• Dust furniture, walls, and equipment; move and rearrange furniture as needed.
• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors with cleaners and squeegees.
• Ensure cleaning supplies are stored safely.
• Follow standardized cleaning processes per company standards.
• Follow procedures for use of chemical cleaners and power equipment.
• Attend staff meetings and required in-service trainings.
• Adhere to basic work routines and standards; use procedures to solve straightforward problems.

Job Summary

As a CBRE, GDS Custodian, you will be responsible for basic cleaning duties. This includes mopping, sweeping and trash disposal. You will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness of your assigned areas.

Shift: 5:00pm - 1:30am

Primary Job Functions

• Provide daily cleaning support to high-traffic areas of the building designated by the supervisor.

• Stock bathrooms with toilet paper, paper towels, Kleenex, and soap.

• Sweep, vacuum, wipe, and mop storage units, hallways, restrooms, elevators, etc.

• Dust furniture, walls, and equipment which includes moving and rearranging furniture.

• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.

• Ensure that cleaning supplies are in a safe, secure area at all times.

• Complete standardized cleaning process as per company standards.

• Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment.

• Attend all regular staff meetings and required in-service training sessions.

• Follow basic work routines and standards in the application of work.

• Use existing procedures to solve straightforward problems while having a limited opportunity to exercise discretion.

Required Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• 2 years of job-related experience

Working Conditions

• Occasional exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, etc

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Capability to perform physically demanding tasks, including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs, lifting (up to 50 lbs.) and moving furniture.

• Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.

• Ability to efficiently complete assigned tasks within designated timeframes.
