Responsibilities

• Perform housekeeping duties on the Dublin Campus.

• Follow safety guidelines and correctly mix/use cleaning agents.
• Operate floor machines (buffers, carpet extractors, vacuums, etc.).
• Maintain orderly storage areas and ensure assigned areas are clean.
• Must be able to lift, push, or pull 25–50 lbs; may work evenings or weekends.

Job Description: DUTIES:

• Under general supervision, the Custodian will be responsible for housekeeping duties on the Oconee Fall Line Technical College Dublin Campus.
• Performs a variety of routine duties such as cleaning floors, windows, fixtures, stairs, restrooms and doors.
• Custodian must know the regulations on safety measures.
• Able to recognize cleaning agent/materials.
• Operate floor machines (buffers, carpet extractors, vacuum cleaners, etc.)
• Maintain orderly appearance in all storage areas.
• Responsible for appearance/cleanliness of specified areas.
• Must be able to lift, push, or pull 25-50 lbs.
• Flexibility in work schedule and may be required to work evening and weekend hours.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or equivalency.
• Valid driver's license.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Three years of custodial experience.

COMPETENCIES:

• Knowledge and skills in the use of custodial tools and methods.
• Knowledge of safety guidelines.
• Knowledge of college policies and procedures.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• The ability to read and comprehend is very important because all cleaning chemicals give warnings plus what to do in case of an emergency.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Minimum Qualifications: No experience is required.
