Job summary

Mesa Public Schools is seeking a dedicated custodian for the 2nd shift to maintain cleanliness and safe conditions across district facilities. The position offers full-time hours (40 per week) with an evening shift include an extra $0.35 per hour.

Job Summary

Prior to employment or during the first 3 months of new hire probationary period, drug and alcohol testing shall be required of all new contract employees who work in Operations. Any applicants having a confirmed positive test shall not be eligible for employment.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Custodians work inside classrooms, hallways, restrooms, gymnasiums, cafeterias, and offices, as well as outside maintaining school grounds
• Frequent use of cleaning solutions, disinfectants, and floor treatments requires proper safety precautions
• Exposed to high temperatures when working outside
• Requires long periods of standing and walking, often covering large areas of the school throughout the shift
• Frequently bends to clean floors, pick up trash, and access low areas
• Sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and other cleaning activities require repetitive arm and hand movements
• Ability to lift approximately 50 pounds
