Job Description

The St. Johnsbury School District is a PreK through 8th grade public school located in the town of Saint Johnsbury. We have approximately 650 students and approximately 250 employees in this building.

We are looking for a custodian to join the team of 7 for the daily cleaning and sanitary actions needed to keep a safe and healthy school. This position starts at 6am and ends at 2:30pm Monday through Friday. It requires custodial tasks including cleaning, disinfecting, dusting and floor care, as well as maintenance tasks. Candidates shall have proven experience collaborating with others, written and oral communication skills. Candidates must be a team player and dependable.

This position is full time (40 hours a week) non-exempt all year long. The benefits include paid time off (vacation days, sick days, personal days, emergency days, bereavement days, holidays), health insurance, dental insurance, pension, life insurance, long term disability. Pay is based on experience and knowledge of facilities.

Applicants must have a background check through the Sheriff's department and a background check through Agency of Human Services with no substantians to be employed at the school.
