Job summary

North Dakota State Hospital in Jamestown, ND is hiring a Custodian for day shift Monday–Friday, 6:00am–2:30pm, with weekend rotation every 9 weeks and occasional holidays. You will plan, organize, and perform custodial duties to maintain a clean, safe environment for patients and staff.

Responsibilities include operating cleaning equipment, adhering to safety rules, and keeping supplies stocked. Preference given to applicants with at least one year of custodial or facility maintenance experience.

Qualifications

• One year custodial or facility maintenance experience.
• Must be able to transport and operate machines weighing up to 60 lbs.
• Must follow directions and safety instructions in handling chemicals and equipment.
• Weekend rotation every 9 weeks; occasional holidays.

Responsibilities

• Observe safety rules and procedures when using chemicals and equipment.
• Sweep, vacuum, mop, scrub all floor surfaces.
• Cleanup spills and stains as they occur.
• Maintain a schedule of required duties.
• Sanitize restrooms and dispose of waste materials.
• Clean and polish mirrors, fixtures, and furniture.
• Maintain inventory and proper storage of cleaning supplies.
• Monitor environment and report safety or sanitation information.
