Job summary

Webster Central School District is seeking a Day Shift Custodian for State Road Elementary School. This full-time, 12-month position runs Monday–Friday, 6:00am–2:30pm, with a start date in October 2026. Salary will be determined by the current CCMA contract and candidate experience.

The role requires guarding district standards, supervising cleaners, and performing janitorial duties. Benefits include health and dental, paid holidays, longevity payments, and in-service course incentives.

Qualifications

• Must hold Monroe County Civil Service title of Custodian or be reachable on a current list.
• Ability to supervise assigned cleaners to meet District standards for building cleanliness.
• Ability to work with individuals of all levels.
• Good knowledge of building and cleaning practices, supplies and equipment.
• Some knowledge of steam boiler and chiller equipment operation and maintenance.
• Ability to make semi-skilled plumbing, electrical, carpentry and mechanical repairs.
• Willingness to perform janitorial tasks.
• Thoroughness, dependability and good physical condition.
• Initiative and imagination.
• Computer experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical repairs.
• Work with staff at all levels to ensure safe, clean facilities.
