    Hours: 2:00p.m. –10:00 p.m.

    SUMMARY: Perform all custodial duties required for the routine care, protection, and preservation of the assigned school building, equipment, furnishings, and grounds.

    DUTIES AND PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    1. Performs a variety of tasks to ensure cleanliness of buildings (e.g., scrubs, dusts, wet mops, vacuums, strips, sweeps, waxes floors, empties trash, washes walls and windows, cleans whiteboards, etc.).

    2. Cleans restrooms and locker rooms daily (e.g., scrubs, disinfects, empties trash, etc.) and replenishes toilet paper, paper towels and soap dispensers.

    3. Performs routine maintenance and minor repairs to facilities and custodial equipment (e.g., replaces light bulbs up to

    8-10 feet, moves classroom furniture, sets up tables and chairs, etc.).

    4. Assists in setting up and taking down all equipment for assemblies and special programs.

    5. Operates necessary equipment (e.g., vacuum, cleaner, buffer, scrubber, etc.).

    6. Assists in cafeteria during lunch (e.g., sets up and takes down equipment, cleans floors, tables and chairs, etc.).

    7. Maintains current inventory of supplies and notifies supervisor of supply needs.

    8. Provides security for building by securing all doors, windows and restricted areas.

    9. Closes the building by shutting off all lights and locking all doors and windows.

    10. Performs a variety of tasks to the grounds surrounding the building (e.g., mows yard, trims shrubbery, removes snow and ice,

    keeps trash picked up and emptied, etc.). .

    11. Maintain clear routes for emergency egress to ensure the safe evacuation of the building.

    12. Works on corrective action when informed assigned cleaning areas require improvement

    12. Attend all mandatory meetings and training programs. Participates in professional growth activities, when requested.

    13. Maintains heating and cooling levels in building and reports problems.

    14. Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.

    15. On call for calamity days and special events in buildings.

    16. Performs other duties as stated in the job description and as assigned by supervisors and building principal.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    1. Training and/or experience which evidences knowledge of custodial and basic maintenance techniques and basic supervision.

    2. Demonstrates ability to perform moderate to heavy physical labor (ability to lift 45+lbs)

    3. Demonstrates ability to interpret labels and warnings.

    4. Must pass criminal background check.

    CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

    1. Effective Date: August 2025

    2. Terms of Employment: One-year probationary contract.

    3. Hours of Work: 8 hours per day /260 day contract (work hours from 2p.m. – 10p.m.)

    4. Must possess a valid Ohio driver's license.

    5. Salary and Benefits: As approved in the current negotiated agreement. Starting salary: $18.07per hour. (+.50 shift diff)
