Job summary

Vocational Training Center is seeking a Custodian to maintain cleanliness and safety across our Fargo, ND locations. This full-time role covers daily custodial care, groundskeeping, and basic maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities include cleaning offices and restrooms, trash removal, inventory, and reporting safety concerns. The ideal candidate is 18+, has a valid driver's license, and can lift up to 50 lbs. Weekend or varying weather conditions may apply.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Current Driver's License.
• Time management and organizational skills.
• Preferred: 2 years of building maintenance or related field.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning and sanitizing offices, restrooms, and common areas
• Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and floor care
• Emptying trash/recycling
• Groundskeeping duties such as raking, snow/ice removal, and keeping entryways clear
• General building maintenance tasks (filter changes, minor repairs, unclogging drains, etc.)
• Identifying maintenance or safety concerns and assisting with solutions

Position:Custodian

Starting Pay:$16.65 per hour

Schedule:Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 4:30 PM

Status:Full-Time (Eligible for all FT benefits)

Primary Location:424 9th Ave South Fargo, ND 58103

Additional Duties:Support weekly cleaning + maintenance needs at all locations.

As part of our growing VTC team, this position plays a key part in ensuring our facilities remain clean, safe, and well-maintained. Responsibilities include daily custodial care, maintaining grounds, and providing support for both interior and exterior upkeep across multiple VTC locations.

Key functions include:

• Cleaning and sanitizing offices, restrooms, and common areas
• Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and floor care
• Emptying trash/recycling
• Maintain inventory and order supplies
• Groundskeeping duties such as raking, snow/ice removal, and keeping entryways clear
• General building maintenance tasks (filter changes, minor repairs, unclogging drains, etc.)
• Identifying maintenance or safety concerns and assisting with solutions
• Maintaining confidentiality and upholding VTC standards

Other duties not listed above may be assigned.

Required:

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Current Driver's License
• Time management and organizational skills.

Preferred:

• 2 years of experience in building maintenance or related field.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying weather conditions
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
