Custodian

This position is a full time (10 months/year) position and is based at the Metropolis Early Learning Center in Metropolis, Illinois. It does come with a benefit package (including vacation, personal, and sick time accrual, holidays, health and life insurance, and an employer sponsored cafeteria plan). This position provides routine custodial activities at a Head Start center to ensure that the facility is maintained in a safe, clean, neat, and orderly state.

Qualifications: At a minimum a High School Diploma or GED is required and the applicant must be at least 18 years of age; prefer at least two years of experience related to custodial work.

Pay: $15.30

Job Duties:

• Completes daily safety inspection of the site and playground.
• Cleans center as outlined in schedule to include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, bathrooms, and various other cleaning duties.
• Maintains cabinet/closet for needed supplies and cleaning materials - including completing requests for ordering, receiving, and organizing supplies and ensuring all products are safely stored.
• Uses only approved cleaning supplies and as according to the directions on the label.
• Completes checklists as assigned.
• Performs routine maintenance tasks.
• Performs any other duties as requested or assigned to meet the requirements of the Head Start program.
