Job summary

The Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology - Okmulgee is seeking a custodian to help maintain clean, safe, and sanitary campus facilities. Shift runs Monday through Friday, 1:00pm-9:30pm with occasional evenings and weekends to support campus operations.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, prior custodian experience, knowledge of custodial equipment and supplies, and a valid Oklahoma driver’s license if vehicle use is required.

Education

Required Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.

Experience

• Previous experience as a general custodian.
• Knowledge of custodial equipment and supplies.

Certifications, Registrations, And/or Licenses

• An Oklahoma driver's license will be required if performing the functions of the position requires the use of a personal or university vehicle.

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to work independently and multi-task effectively.
• Must be able to read and understand MSDS sheets and department directives.
• Ability to handle multiple work priorities simultaneously and work with minimal supervision in a highly self-motivated manner.
• Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
• Position requires that employee be able to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, bend, reach, and walk up and down stairs. Must have use of all limbs.

Communication Skills

• Must be able to read and write and follow directives.
• Ability to communicate effectively with a positive attitude.
• Excellent listening skills and customer responsiveness are essential.
