Avon Public School is looking for a full-time Custodian to maintain cleanliness of the school building and grounds. The position includes responsibilities such as cleaning, emergency cleanup, and supporting school functions.
Ideal candidates will have a high school education, knowledge of safety procedures, and the ability to work independently. The job offers benefits, including medical and dental insurance.
Position building assignment is based on current needs of the school corporation.
Under the supervision of the Head Custodian, the Custodian cleans and maintains the school building and grounds, sets up equipment for special events and assists school personnel with work requests. While completing these duties, good relationships should be maintained with the warehouse department, corporation personnel and the community, as well as projecting a genuine care and concern for all students. This position requires consistent attendance and punctuality as well as the capability to handle confidential information.
Hourly pay starting at $18.00.
261 days (Year-Round)
Full-Time (40 Hours per Week)
Monday – Friday, 10:30pm - 7:00am
Full-time positions are eligible for medical, dental insurance as well as supplemental benefits such as vision, life insurance, disability, etc. Eligible for PERF Retirement.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance, vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
