The University of Wisconsin-Madison is seeking a Custodian for its Wisconsin Union facilities. This role involves routine maintenance, cleaning, and monitoring the safety and security of buildings. Candidates should have prior custodial experience and the physical ability to perform various tasks. This Custodian position is a team member of the Wisconsin Union -Facilities Custodian Team. Duties include routine maintenance and cleaning, trash removal and snow/ice removal. Work is performed under the guidance of a Custodial Services Supervisor.

- 3 months of previous cleaning, custodial, hospitality, or related experience within an academic, commercial or residential environment preferred.
-Ability to walk, stand, lift, carry, bend, stoop and climb for the majority of the shift, including extended periods of continuous physical activities with or without a reasonable accommodation.
-Ability to lift and move supplies, equipment and material regularly up to 50 lbs. and occasionally up to 100 lbs.
-Ability to remove snow and ice outside during cold weather conditions.
10:30pm-7am with days of the week schedule rotating every 7 weeks.
Full Time: 100%
It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.

Minimum $17.00 HOURLY
Depending on Qualifications
-Plus an additional $2.50 per hour for night hours worked (6pm-6am).
-Plus an additional $0.80 per hour for weekend hours worked.
-Plus Time and a half per hour for hours worked on designated legal holidays.

The Wisconsin Union operates from several buildings on the UW-Madison campus including Memorial Union, Union South, Fluno Center, Pyle Center, University Club, Red Gym, and the Student Activity Center. The Wisconsin Union is a financially self-supporting division of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Financial support for the organization is provided by income earned by over thirty food service units and a variety of nonfood units such as games, guest rooms, space rentals and campus vending. Substantial support is also provided by student fees. The total annual organizational budget is approximately $60 million dollars.
Student Affairs is led by the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs. Our staff is dedicated to serving students and to helping them succeed in and out of the classroom in areas including health and well-being, identity and inclusion, leadership and engagement, and student advocacy. Student Affairs includes departments led by the dean of students; departments that provide identity-based spaces and leadership resources; the Wisconsin Union; University Health Services; and University Recreation and Wellbeing.
