Role Description

The Litchfield School District is seeking applicants for a custodial lead position reporting to either the District Facility Manager or Custodial Supervisor. The general purpose of this position is the performance of routine maintenance and cleaning of the school buildings in support of the education, extra and co-curricular programs of the School District. Supervise custodial team as directed by the Custodial Supervisor and Facility Director. Provide input on employee evaluations to the Custodial Supervisor, Facility Director and Building Assistant Principal.

Qualifications

• Experience with custodial duties in educational or commercial facilities, including routine cleaning, floor care, and restroom sanitation.
• Ability to use and maintain cleaning equipment and supplies safely, following established health and safety guidelines.
• Leadership and team coordination skills, including assigning tasks, providing guidance, and supporting a collaborative work environment.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities to prioritize tasks and complete work within the 2nd shift schedule.
• Effective communication skills to interact with staff, students, and administrators in a professional and respectful manner.
• Capacity to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, standing for extended periods, and handling equipment and materials.
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining clean, safe, and orderly school facilities.
• Previous custodial or facilities experience preferred; high school diploma or equivalent is beneficial.
• Willingness to follow district policies, safety procedures, and security protocols for evening building operations.

Shift type: Full-time

Salary Range: $20.65 - $22.57
