Join to apply for the Custodian - 2nd Shift role at Cape Cod Regional Technical High School.

General Statement of Duties: Maintenance and security of the building. This is a twelve-month school-year position with wages established within the Unit E contract.

Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor

Performance Responsibilities:

1. Clean and dust classrooms, windows, corridors, and other spaces as assigned.
2. Report needed repairs, safety hazards, or maintenance problems promptly to the supervisor and take necessary action to correct or warn of the hazard.
3. Requisition necessary equipment or materials for proper discharge of duties.
4. Ensure rooms are properly heated and maintain proper air circulation.
5. Secure and lock facilities according to schedule.
6. Make minor repairs as directed.
7. Guard against waste of fuel, water, light, power, and supplies.
8. Work cooperatively with teachers and staff, including fellow custodians.
9. Report and remove graffiti promptly.
10. Strip and re-wax floors as directed.
11. Operate assigned equipment safely.
12. Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal and Superintendent/Director.

Qualifications:

• Skills and competencies to complete assigned cleaning and maintenance responsibilities.
• At least 2 years of experience in custodial or building maintenance work.
• Dependable and responsible in carrying out responsibilities with minimal supervision.
• Act appropriately and respectfully with students, staff, and the public.
• Ability to perform heavy physical labor, including lifting up to 60 pounds.

Evaluation: Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the school collective bargaining agreement for Unit E.

Note: A specific requirement may be waived if an outstanding candidate is qualified in all other aspects.
