Job summary

Tioga High School, part of the Rapides Parish School District, is seeking a Custodian to maintain all assigned areas of the site including building facilities, grounds and equipment. This is a full-time, twelve-month position with a starting date immediately and a salary per the Custodian Salary Schedule-NIV at $21,435 per year.

Candidates should be skilled in maintenance and comply with safety policies; citizenship or residency is required; reports to the Building Evaluator or designee;

Qualifications

• Skilled in maintenance of school district buildings, facilities, equipment and grounds.

Responsibilities

• Complete maintenance activities of building facilities, equipment and grounds as directed by head custodian, building evaluator, or custodial supervisor.
• Follow state, school board and school policies relative to safety and security of buildings, equipment and supplies.
• Maintain and/or prepare equipment and supplies as necessary for various tasks.
• Report safety hazards to appropriate personnel.
• Submit requests for janitorial materials, supplies, equipment as needed.
• Work cooperatively with other custodial staff, head custodian, building evaluator, custodial supervisor, and other school district personnel as necessary to perform assigned duties.
• Adhere to schedule for routine and special tasks as approved by the building evaluator and head custodian.
• Attend in-service training as required by the custodial supervisor and/or building evaluator.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the custodial supervisor and/or building evaluator.
• Follow federal, state, and Rapides Parish School District policies.
