Job summary

The Louisiana Veterans Homes is seeking a hardworking and dependable WAE Custodian to assist with the upkeep and operation of the Housekeeping department in Jackson, Louisiana. Responsibilities

• Empties and decontaminates trash containers; may assist in disposing of infectious waste.
• Moves, rearranges, and dusts furniture and fixtures.
• Learns to mix or blend cleaning solutions to proper concentrations as necessary for various tasks.
• Assists in setting up tables, chairs, and other furniture for special meetings, banquets, or other occasions.
• Washes blinds, windows, and walls with prescribed solutions.
• Operates a vacuum for cleaning carpeted areas.
• Strips, decontaminates, and makes beds for patients, residents, students, etc.
• Reports needs for minor building and/or equipment repairs to a higher-level custodian.
